Tobillas lies next to the river Omecillo, at the foot of the steep limestone cliff of the Peña Gobea where it is known as the "Portillo del Pico del Fraile". The average height above sea level of this village is 658 metres.
Despite Tobilla’s small size, it does have a good number of structures built for religious purposes owing to its long history as an area occupied by monasteries and hermitages .
•Parish church
The parish church on a rocky mass in the upper part of the village is dedicated to San Roman. It calls to mind the former monastery of which various traces remain, particularly the small corbels and cornices on the north side. The square section tower at the foot of the church rises well above the height of the nave .
