Quejo is situated in the western foothills of the Sierra de Arcena, in a secluded spot surrounded by uniform wooded hills. Its maximum height above sea level is 680 metres.
•Parish church
The
parish church is in honour of San Julián, keeping the same dedication
as the original monastery that stood there in the early Middle Ages. There
is a single nave with a Romanesque structure, the tower at its feet barely
rising above the height of the nave. The porch on the south side opens
out into a lintel support structure looking out over the lower part of
the village, and providing shelter for the church entrance. The capitals
of the doorway pillars are along Romanesque lines. There is a cross inscribed
within a circle on a worked stone set into the foot wall of the church
.
