Lahoz is located in the depths of the fascinating Valderejo valley, separated from the Valdegovía valley by the imposing ridge of the Peña Carría. The two valleys run parallel to one another, the average height above sea level being 929 metres.
Lahoz, together with Lalastra, Ribera and Villamardones, constitute Valderejo district council. The parish church, from its dominant position, overlooks the various houses of the village. Unfortunately, many buildings are now not much more than ruins.
•Apóstol Santiago Parish Church
The nave of Apóstol Santiago church, now closed, is in a precarious condition and is shored up by substantial props. The solid wall forming the belfry is adjacent but free-standing, the bells being housed in double Roman arches at the top of the structure.
